Solar Eclipse Glasses

All Glasses Are Now Gone

Starting Wednesday, August 16th at 9:00 AM, we'll be offering eclipse glasses to residents of Norridge and Harwood Heights.

Due to high demand and concerns regarding the safety of solar eclipse glasses:

  • Glasses will be given exclusively to residents of Norridge and Harwood Heights.
  • Glasses will be given only to those with valid Eisenhower Library cards.
  • Recipients will be required to sign a waiver.
  • Recipients must be 18 or older with valid proof of age.
  • Recipients under 18 will need a parent or legal guardian present to sign on their behalf.
  • Glasses are limited to two per library card.
  • Glasses will be available on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.
  • Glasses will not be held or reserved.

The safest way to view an eclipse is on video. On Monday, August 21st, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, we'll be live streaming NASA's footage of the event. The agency will share images from spacecraft, aircraft, high-altitude balloons, and the International Space Station alongside coverage of eclipse events at parks, libraries, stadiums, festivals, and museums across the U.S.
