Dig Those Dinosaur Bones!

Grades K-6th grade. Registration Required.

Do you know your dinosaurs inside and out? We'll explore the world of dinosaur bones and fossils by taking an "under the skin" look at how dinosaurs moved and then use household items to build awesome dinosaur skeletons.

Registration starts August 7th for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with current library cards. All others may register beginning August 14th. Priority for Kids World programs is given to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents.

Friends Book Sale

September 23rd,

Look for the Friends of the Library in the Book Sale room on the first floor, next to the Quiet Room on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month to support the library and find great deals.

Book Buzz: What to Read This Fall

Love free books? Robert Haddock from Penguin-Random House returns with the inside scoop on all the hottest books coming out this fall. Don't forget about the free books and other giveaways.

Crazy 8s Math Club

September 25th,
4:30pm to 5:45pm
Grades K-2. Registration required (for the full eight weeks)

Join Bedtime Math's Crazy 8s Club to build stuff, run and jump, make music, make a mess . it's a totally new kind of math club. You'll get to do mischief-making activities like Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry, Bouncy Dice, and Toilet Paper Olympics. You'll take home cool gadgets, too.

Registration is for all eight classes; note that there is no class October 2nd.

Brain and Memory Health

Join memory expert Dr. Linda Sasser for an entertaining look at how memory works. Learn about practices for improving brain function and leave with easy-to-use strategies for remembering names, information, and tasks.

Drop-in Junior Storytime

Social Media 101: Instagram

Learn what you can do with the popular social website, Instagram. Set up your profile and begin sharing photos and videos right away.

Teen Music Club

4:00pm to 6:00pm
Musicians of all levels in grades 7-12 are invited to hang out with friends and geek out about music. During each session, we'll talk about music, write songs, learn some instruments, and make recordings in the Workshop studio. Bring your ideas, instruments, and friends.

Kids Yoga

September 26th,
4:30pm to 5:30pm
Ages 7-10 Registration Required (One session per family)

Enjoy Yoga at the library with a registered yoga teacher. This program focuses on yoga and integrative learning with storytelling. Yoga mats are provided.

Coffee with the Director

Modern Times Film Series: Hacksaw Ridge

The Modern Times Film series showcases new additions to the library's movie collection.

This month's movie will be Hacksaw Ridge, starring Andrew Garfield as Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot. rated R. 2h 19m.
