Page to Screen Book Club: The Last Man on Earth

Every month the Page to Screen Club watches a movie and discusses the book from which it was adapted.

This month we'll watch The Last Man on Earth after reading the novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. Copies of the book are available at the Library Services Desk approximately one month before the screening.

Beginning Knitting

Learn the basics of knitting in this four-part class in a small-group setting.  Supplies will be provided. Must be 18 years old or older.

Camille Stagg offers tips on selecting, storing, and preparing seasonal fruits and vegetables. Try some delicious recipes, including Acorn Squash with Honeyed Apples, and Colcannon, a tasty Irish dish of kale and potatoes, traditionally eaten on Halloween.

Leo's Little Explorers

In true Da Vinci fashion, we'll explore the worlds of math, science, art, literacy, and imagination. This program is ideal for those attending half day kindergarten.

Polish Heritage Book Club: The Painted Bird

Join us every other month for an English-language book discussion group focused on literature related to Poland and Polish culture.

This month we're discussing The Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski.

A young boy, abandoned by his parents during World War II, wanders from one village to another, sometimes hounded and tortured, only rarely sheltered and cared for. Through sparse prose and vivid imagery, Kosinski's novel is a story of mythic proportion, even more relevant to today's society than it was upon its original publication.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Sew-Lutions Saturday
