Drop-in Junior Storytime

Teen Music Club

Musicians of all levels in grades 7-12 are invited to hang out with friends and geek out about music. During each session, we'll talk about music, write songs, learn some instruments, and make recordings in the Workshop studio. Bring your ideas, instruments, and friends.

Kids Yoga

4:30pm to 5:30pm
Ages 7-10 Registration Required (One session per family)

Enjoy Yoga at the library with a registered yoga teacher. This program focuses on yoga and integrative learning with storytelling. Yoga mats are provided.

Kids registration starts August 7 for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents. All others may register beginning August 14. Priority for Kids World programs goes to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents.

Coffee with the Director

Modern Times Film Series: La La Land

The Modern Times Film series showcases new additions to the library's movie collection.

This month's movie will be the musical La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as an aspiring actress and a jazz pianist falling in love in Los Angeles. Rated PG-13. 2h 8m.

The Serger: Make a Pocket Tissue Holder

Learn how to use our serger to make a pocket tissue holder. A previous serger class is a prerequisite for this class.

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

World War I: A World Gone Mad

Historian Jim Gibbons examines key events of the Great War including the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the sinking of the Lusitania, and how the newly invented airplane, submarine, and tank led to an Allied victory.
