Leading up to our October 13th conversation with Sonali Dev, author of the Bollywood Series of romance novels we're presenting a series of Bollywood movies.

This month's movie is Do Dooni Chaar. Delhi schoolteacher Santosh strives to earn enough money to purchase a car so that his family can attend their in-law's wedding.

After Hours Teen Time: Footloose & '80s Pins

This month make '80s themed lapel pins after watching a big city teen shake up a small town where no one is allowed to dance.

Learn the Carvey: Engraved Bookmark

Modern Times Film Series: First Man

The Modern Times Film series showcases new additions to the library's movie collection. This month's movie will be First Man.

A look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969. 2018. 2h 21m. PG-13.

Teen Music Club

Music fans of all levels in grades 7-12 are invited to hang out with friends and geek out about music. During each session, we'll talk about music, write songs, learn some instruments, and make recordings in the Workshop studio. Bring your ideas, instruments, and friends.

Page to Screen Book Club: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Every month we'll watch a movie and discuss the book from which it was adapted. This month we'll watch The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy after reading the novel by Douglas Adams. 2005. 1h 49m. Rated PG.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Kodak: You Push the Button, We Do the Rest

In 1900, Kodak's Brownie camera cost $1.00 and was used everywhere from the Titanic, to Peary's Arctic expedition, to the trenches of World War I. Reenactor R J Lindsey, as Kodak founder George Eastman, presents a historic slideshow and a display of vintage cameras to tell the story of snapshot photography.

Movie Makers Workshop

In this two-part hands-on workshop, learn the art of filmmaking from script to screen. You'll write, shoot, and edit your own incredible mini-movie. We'll provide cameras but you can bring your own if you choose.

The Real Mae West

Early Hollywood actress, singer, playwright, screenwriter, comedian, and sex symbol Mae West was known for her indecent double entendres and breezy, baudy independence. Historical interpreter Martina Mathisen brings Mae West to life with stories and secrets from her seven decades-long entertainment career.

Pen and Ink Writers Group
