Adult Book Discussion: How to Walk Away

This month's Adult Book Discussion book will be How to Walk Away by Katherine Center.

Margaret Jacobsen is just about to step into the bright future she's worked for so hard and so long: a new dream job, a fiancé she adores, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in a brief, tumultuous moment.

Teen Music Club

April 9th,

Music fans of all levels in grades 7-12 are invited to hang out with friends and geek out about music. During each session, we'll talk about music, write songs, learn some instruments, and make recordings in the Workshop studio. Bring your ideas, instruments, and friends.

Intro to the Serger

Learn to use the serger, a special sewing machine used to prevent material from fraying at the edges.

Page to Screen Book Club: The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings

Every month we'll watch a movie and discuss the book from which it was adapted. This we'll watch The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (1976) after reading the novel by William Brashler. Rated PG. 1h 50m. Copies of the book will be available at the Library Services Desk approximately one month before the screening.

Food and Poetry

Polish Heritage Book Club: The Book of Aron

Join us every other month for an English-language book discussion group focused on literature related to Poland and Polish culture. This month's book will be The Book of Aron by Jim Shepard.

After moving from rural Poland to Warsaw, eight-year-old Aron's family's hopes for a better life vanish as the occupying German government imposes harsh restrictions.

Books are available to borrow at the Library Services Desk one month before our meeting.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Be Dramatic! - Theater Club

All the world's a stage. learn how to act out in it. Perform quick scenes with your fellow actors and play some fun theater games!

We're keeping the library open after hours just for teens. Bring your friends, to watch a movie, eat some pizza, and make a craft.

This month watch as a mother and daughter magically switch bodies then make flipping and switching optical illusion toys.

Pen & Paper Tabletop Adventure
