Veteran Photo Submissions

October 1st (All day) to November 24th (All day)
Honor the Veteran or Active Soldier you know by submitting their service information for our Local History Veteran Display. Our annual Veteran wall is on display during the month of November in Kids World.

Look for submission forms at any library service desk. Please bring in an original photograph of the veteran/soldier. We will immediately scan the image while you wait, and return the original back to you.

Open Workshop Hours

1:00pm to 4:30pm
Stop in during open Workshop hours to get creative. Work on a self-directed project with our sewing machines, embroidery machines, digital media lab, or other Workshop equipment. Staff will be available to help out or offer project suggestions.

U Create: Leaf Art

Grades 1 - 3. Registration required.

Leaves fall, fall leaves! Let's use this natural, colorful beauty to make our own art. We'll have materials to trace, draw, rub, color, and collage. Fall fun!

Registration starts August 7th for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with current library cards. All others may register beginning August 14th. Priority for Kids World programs is given to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents.

Adult Book Discussion: The Devil in the White City

This month's Adult Book Discussion book will be The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson.

Erik Larson intertwines the true tale of the 1893 World's Fair and the cunning serial killer, H.H. Holmes who used the fair to lure his victims to their death. Combining meticulous research with nail-biting storytelling, Erik Larson has crafted a narrative with all the wonder of newly discovered history and the thrills of the best fiction.

Copies of the book are available at the Library Services Desk approximately a month before our discussion.

Kids Yoga

Ages 7-10 Registration Required (One session per family)

Enjoy Yoga at the library with a registered yoga teacher. This program focuses on yoga and integrative learning with storytelling. Yoga mats are provided.

Fact or Fiction: Research the News

The internet is filled with information, some of it less than factual. Learn how to verify news reports online with your own research and fact checking.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Friends Book Sale Preview

This special preview book sale, organized by the Friends of the Eisenhower Library, is open only to members of the Friends group. Annual, individual memberships are $5.00 and will be available at the door.
