Busy Bags

Ages 2-5 with their parent or caregiver.

While the kids engage in some read-sing-play activities, their adults are invited to make two pre-literacy activity kits. All materials will be provided along with prototypes for simple, reusable learning activities that are yours to keep and to play with your child.

Registration starts February 5th for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with current library cards. All others may register beginning February 12th. Priority for Kids World programs is given to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents.

Adult Book Discussion: The Breakdown

This month's Adult Book Discussion book will be The Breakdown by B.A. Paris.

Cass has been forgetting every little thing: where she left the car, if she took her pills, the alarm code, why she ordered a pram when she doesn't have a baby. The only thing she can't forget is that woman, the dying woman she might have saved, and the terrible nagging guilt. Or the silent calls she's receiving, or the feeling that someone's watching her.

Basic Computer Literacy Series

Learn the basics of using a computer in this three-part Computer Literacy Series. A great start for beginners.

Battle of the Books

March 7th,
4:00pm to 5:00pm
Battle of the Books challenges students in grades four through six to become familiar with literature. Comprehension and retention are put to the test in a Jeopardy style battle between the teams.

Area schools create their own teams and gather at the library to compete in a five-week battle on questions derived from selected books. See your school's Battle Coach to sign up. 

Garden Club

Join us on the first Wednesday of every month to talk about bulbs, bushes, berries and begonias. We'll discuss everything from window boxes to victory gardens.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Girls Who Code

We're looking for girls in grades 6-12 who want to learn computer science skills and join a supportive sisterhood of thousands of coding girls across the country. No experience necessary! Learn how to code and change the world.

Spring Cooking

Food writer Camille Stagg launches a culinary spring fever by sharing recipes and tips for Easter, discussing Thomas Jefferson's gardens at Monticello, and celebrating Earth Day with local eating. Tasting samples include spring favorites, asparagus, artichokes, rhubarb, and more.

Learn the Sewing Machine

After Hours Teen Time: Clueless and Make 'n' Take Spritzers

We're keeping the library open after hours just for teens. Bring your friends, to watch a movie, eat pizza, and learn something cool.

Watch Beverly Hill High School student, Cher, survive the ups and downs of adolescent life and then make your own essential oil spritzers said to reduce stress and increase focus.

Leveraging LinkedIn for Solo Entrepreneurs

Friends Book Sale

Crazy Eights Math Club - Season 2

Join Bedtime Math's Crazy 8s, a totally new kind of math club where you'll build stuff, toss beach balls, make amazing mazes and more! You'll have a blast with mischief-making activities like Beach Ball Party, Funny Money and Glow-in-the-Dark City. Registration is for all eight weekly classes.

Ridgewood Drama Club Presents . . .
