Teen Music Club

September 12th,
4:00pm to 6:00pm
Musicians of all levels in grades 7-12 are invited to hang out, mess around, and geek out about music. During each session, we'll talk about music, write songs, learn some instruments, and make recordings in the Workshop studio. Bring your ideas, instruments, and friends.

Kids Yoga

September 12th,
4:30pm to 5:30pm
Ages 7-10 Registration Required (One session per family)

Enjoy Yoga at the library with a registered yoga teacher. This program focuses on yoga and integrative learning with storytelling. Yoga mats are provided.

Convert Vinyl Records to CDs

Page to Screen Book Club: Blade Runner

Every month we'll watch a movie and discuss the book from which it was adapted.

This month we'll watch Blade Runner after reading the novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. 

Copies of the book will be available at the Library Services Desk approximately one month before the screening.

Bus Trip: Kline Creek Farm

$20.00 - Step back in time to life on an 1890s Illinois farm. Stroll through the restored farmstead and meet costumed interpreters operating this living history farm using the tools and techniques of the past. We'll explore the evolution of agriculture through the farm's various buildings and grounds. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the DuPage County Forest Preserve in early fall. Families welcome. Be aware that this is a walking tour.

AARP Driver's Safety Course

AARP's Class is an excellent way for drivers over 50 to learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws, and rules of the road. There are no tests to take, and participants are entitled to a discount on their car insurance upon completion. $15 for AARP members. $20 for non-members. Payable by check on the first day of class.

Crazy 8s Math Club

Grades K-2. Registration required (for the full eight weeks)

Join Bedtime Math's Crazy 8s Club to build stuff, run and jump, make music, make a mess . it's a totally new kind of math club. You'll get to do mischief-making activities like Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry, Bouncy Dice, and Toilet Paper Olympics. You'll take home cool gadgets, too.

Registration is for all eight classes; note that there is no class October 2nd.

Pen and Ink Writers Group

The Pen and Ink Writers Group gathers on the third Monday of each month to read short stories, poems or essays, all inspired by a common theme. Build up your writing skills through practice, presentation and positive critique. This month's theme is LIMP.
