Kids Create: Seeds and Seedlings

May 1st,
4:00pm to 5:00pm
Ages 6-9. Registration Required.

Spring is coming! Let's get some things started in this hands-on program. We will plant flower and vegetable seeds for you to care for and plant outside in mid-May. We will also transplant some seedlings to take home. Dress for dirt digging!

Registration begins February 6th for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with a valid library card. All others may register beginning February 13th.

Adult Book Discussion: The Wonder

This month's book is The Wonder by Emma Donoghue.

In the latest masterpiece by Emma Donoghue, bestselling author of Room, an English nurse brought to a small Irish village to observe what appears to be a miracle, a girl said to have survived without food for months-soon finds herself fighting to save the child's life.

Bus Trip: My Fair Lady at the Lyric Opera

May 4th,
12:00pm to 6:00pm
$65.00 - An all-star cast, plus the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus, will charm you with favorite tunes and the story of Eliza Doolittle, a young flower seller with a Cockney accent, and Henry Higgins, the phonetics professor who believes he can teach her to speak like a proper lady, My Fair Lady is guaranteed to capture your heart. Guitarist Jon Shain

Durham, North Carolina-based singer-songwriter, Jon Shain has been turning heads for years with his fiery acoustic guitar work, combining improvised fingerstyle piedmont blues with bluegrass, swing, and ragtime. You'll love his soft-spoken story-songs about regular people and social justice. Presented by the Friends of the Eisenhower Library.

Page to Screen Book Club: P.S. I Love You
