Email Basics Part 1 of 2

September 2nd, 10:00am to 11:00am
In this two part class, learn the basics of using email. Part One covers sending and receiving messages, how messages are stored and what it means to have an email "address". Learn more ways to use your email account in part two, including text effects, attachments, working with drafts, contacts and display settings.

Teen Snack Attack!! Pinkie and the Brain

Meet in Kids World Storyroom!!!! Cartoons, TV shows and movies for grades 7-12.Plus, there's always a snack! This month come for Pinky and the Brain and goldfish crackers!

Modern Times Film Series: All is Lost

September 2nd, 6:00pm to 8:00pm

On Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:00 pm and Tuesday, September 16th at 1:00 pm, join us for our presentations of All is Lost, in which a resourceful sailor, played by Robert Redford, finds himself staring his mortality in the face after a collision with a shipping container at sea.

Kids Gaming

September 3rd, 4:30pm to 6:00pm
Back by popular demand! Gaming is back in session with twist. Each session we will be hosting Super Smash Bros Brawl or Mario Kart tournaments with prizes for our top players. Feel free to bring your own Nintendo DS or 3DS to play Pokemon against other players too! Grades 2-6, Drop-in.

Gardening Club

September 3rd, 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Join us on the first Wednesday of every month to talk about bulbs, bushes, berries and begonias. We'll discuss everything from window boxes to victory gardens. The library is even offering access to its public spaces to those with a green thumb. 

The Civilian Conservation Corps and Illinois

September 3rd, 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Historian Tom Emery explores the Civilian Conservation Corps, one of the hallmark New Deal programs of the Great Depression. Perhaps the most successful government program in U.S. History, the CCC put millions to work planting trees, building dams and erecting infrastructure still used today.

Google Drive

September 3rd, 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Google Docs is a free, cloud-based suite of tools for creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more. This class will cover the Documents application in Google Docs, in addition to showing you how to access and store your Docs from Google Drive online.

Anonymous Teen Writers

September 4th, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
Writers in grade 7 through 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour of socializing, discussion, and - of course - writing! Share your poems, songs or stories in a supportive space, or listen to others read their work.

Superhero Photo Booth

September 6th, 10:00am to 12:00pm
Dress up and pose in front of a green screen in costumes and get your photo taken. We will then photoedit you into a superhero backdrop and email you a copy for you to keep. Delight your friends and family with depictions of you flying to the rescue, showing off spectacular feats of strength, or shooting lasers out of your eyes!

2nd Annual Mini Comic Con

Don your cape, tights and mask, then drop in at Eisenhower to join hundreds of fans at our second annual Mini Comic Con, a celebration of the best in pop culture. Financial Investment Club

Drop-In Baby Storytime

September 8th, 10:30am to 11:30am
Ages: 6-17 months

Join us for finger plays, songs, and fun! Storytime will last for 45 minutes to an hour depending. Child must be between six and seventeen months in age to participate. Sign in at the Kids World desk. Priority for children's programs are given to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents. Be sure to check out our storytime guidelines.
