Learn to Paint

July 25th,
4:00pm to 5:00pm
Grades 1-3. Registration Required. Kids under 7 must bring an adult.

Everyone can be an artist! Learn to paint in Piet Mondrian style with lines and squares.

Registration starts May 28th for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with valid library cards. Online registration for everyone starts June 3rd. Priority for Kids programs is given to Norridge and Harwood Heights residents.

Anonymous Teen Writers

Writers in grades 7 - 12 are invited to join in on a weekly hour and a half of socializing, discussion, and, of course, writing! Share your poems and stories in a supportive space or listen to others read.

Big Kids Storytime

Drop-In (Sign in at Kids World starting 30 minutes prior to class start)

Storytimes offer great opportunities for kids in the proper grade range to learn and have fun. Big Kids Storytime is specifically designed for children who are in kindergarten through second grade. 

Priority for Kids World Programs goes to residents of Norridge and Harwood Heights. 

Junior Storytime

Teen Creativity Camp

Where will your artistic skills take you? This summer, create a role playing campaign, design characters, and record the story as a podcast. Throw in some sidewalk chalk drawing, poetry, and photography and you'll have a full week of creativity. For teens in grades 7-12.

Kids World Talent Show Rehearsal

It's rehearsal time for the Kids Talent Show. Those that signed up to perform should plan on attending this day, too. Performers only the the exception that performers under 7 should bring an adult.

Friends Book Sale

Look for the Friends of the Library in the Book Sale Room on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month to support the library and find great deals.

Watercolor Painting

July 28th,

$5.00 - Learn watercolor painting with step by step instruction. Paint along with Victoria Pelarenos as you learn techniques and complete a painting by the end of the class. Supplies will be provided.

Three years after her husband's death, Lilian is getting her life back on track by taking a gardening class. With the help of her kids, her sister, a patient instructor and a quirky group of gardeners she'll learn that into every life a little sun must shine, whether you want it to or not.

Copies of the book are available in regular and large type. Loans will also be available in audio and eBook formats. Join us for a lively discussion.

Bus Trip: Illinois Railway Museum

August 7th,
9:00am to 3:00pm
$25.00 - Visit the largest collection of historic railway equipment in North America. See restored Pullman sleeping cars, opulent private cars, dining cars and coaches, as well as interurban trains and vintage horse-drawn streetcars. Board the streetcar next to the 50th Avenue "L" station for a ride up to the historic 1851 East Union Depot or take a ride on the streetcar line. Bring a lunch or plan to purchase food at Central Diner.
