Avoiding Senior Scams

The Advisory Council of the Seniors Assistance Center offers tips to protect yourself from fraud. Jenny Syversen of Edward Jones discusses e-mail and financial scams, Kathleen MCKenzie of Aging Care Connections offers advice on finding caregiver support and legitimate programs available for seniors, and the Senior Medicare Patrol of AgeOptions discusses Medicare fraud.

Registration begins May 1 for Norridge and Harwood Heights residents with valid library cards. Others may register beginning May 8.

Polish Heritage Book Club: A Question of Honor

Join us every other month for an English-language book discussion group focused on literature related to Poland and Polish culture.

This month we're discussing A Question of Honor by Lynne Olson.

After Poland fell to the Nazis, thousands of Polish pilots, soldiers, and sailors escaped to England. Devoted to liberating their homeland, some would form the RAF's 303 squadron. Their fearless flying made them celebrities in Britain. This moving, fascinating book uncovers a crucial forgotten chapter in Polish history.
