Every year since 1986, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has inducted musical performers, groups, and industry luminaries into its archive of the best-known and most influential figures from the history of rock music. Inductees are chosen by a group of more than 900 music industry voters and by ballots submitted by fans. Just to make you feel old, artists are eligible for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first recording.
Nile Rodgers will be given the Award for Musical Excellence for his role in the creation of Disco and his continued influence as a record producer.
