Have you ever watched a movie that is so bad that it’s good? Everyone talks about the big movies of the summer or the new sequel to beloved franchises but, has anyone ever told you “this is so bad you need to see it for yourself”? These are my favorite films to share with family and friends. Knowing that you are in for an awful time is all part of the fun with these sorts of movie nights. Scream or cheer along with some of the best of the worst of our Kids World collection.
Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat
Conrad and Sally Walden are home alone with their pet fish. It is raining outside, and there is nothing to do. Until The Cat in the Hat walks in the front door. He introduces them to their imagination, and at first it’s all fun and games, until things get out of hand and the kids wreak havoc in the home their mother has neatly prepared for an upcoming party. So The Cat must go, go, go, before their parents get back.
Oscar is a lowly tongue-scrubber at the local Whale Wash, who becomes an improbable hero when he tells a great white lie. To keep his secret, Oscar teams up with an outcast vegetarian Great White shark, Lenny, and the two become the most unlikely of friends. When his lie begins to unravel, it’s up to Oscar’s loyal friend Angie and Lenny to help him stand up to the most feared shark in the water and find his true place in the reef.
He may look like a mild-mannered detective, but Inspector Gadget is somewhere between a man and a machine, and he’s out to clean up the city if he can keep all his many parts under control.
Son of the Mask
The ancient mask has gone missing again. This time it washes up on the banks of a little stream where it is found by Otis the Dog, who brings it home to Tim Avery and his wife Tonya. Otis plays with the Mask until it attaches itself to his face, after which he is transformed into a cartoon dog. Eventually Tim puts on the Mask, and is transformed into a whiz kid at his advertising agency and is able to create brilliant campaigns with no problems at all. Tim gets an instant promotion to the big account, but without the Mask he can not produce. However, Tim was able to wear it to bed where his wife Tonya conceived their son Alvey, who is then born with cartoonlike abilities. Meanwhile, powerful forces seek the Mask. The god Odin is furious with his son Loki for having lost the Mask in the first place, and sends him down to Earth to get it back again.
