Best Nerds Forever by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein

Best Nerds Forever

“Down deep inside every kid is a nerd. Take it from five best friends. Being “nerdy” in middle school isn’t a bad thing–I should know! Me and my friends are nerds.”

Finn is a seventh grader with four friends who all consider themselves nerds. They eat lunch together, hang out, and are able to discuss anything. Finn rides his bike off a cliff and dies in the beginning of the book. He then spends his time in the afterlife with a girl named Isabella who is also recently deceased.

They go to school to see what is happening. They visit their friends and family and spend time at the best place of all, the lake. Both Finn and Isabella wish they were more involved when they were alive.

There is a twist at the end that will be very surprising for 10-14 year old readers.
