A lot of great music topped the charts during 1973, our founding year. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eisenhower Public Library every other Sunday with selections from Billboard Magazine’s Hot 100 Singles.

“Monster Mash” is a 1962 novelty song by Bobby “Boris” Pickett. The single went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart that year, just before Halloween. It has been a perennial Halloween-time hit many times ever since including in 1973. In 2021, nearly 60 years after its release, “Monster Mash” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 37.
