A lot of great music topped the charts during 1973, our founding year. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eisenhower Public Library every other Sunday with selections from Billboard Magazine’s Hot 100 Singles.
“Reelin’ in the Years” was the second single from Can’t Buy a Thrill, the debut studio album by American rock band Steely Dan. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number 17 on the Billboard chart and eventually being certified platinum. It was also met with positive reviews and later appeared on many professional listings of the greatest albums, including Colin Larkin’s All Time Top 1000 Albums and Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
