
A lot of great music topped the charts during 1973, our founding year. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eisenhower Public Library every other Sunday with selections from Billboard Magazine’s Hot 100 Singles.
Despite appearing on his 1969 album, Bowie’s “Space Oddity” was rereleased in 1973 when it went back to the top of the charts. Its title and subject matter were partly inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey and Bowie’s feelings of alienation at that point in his career.
