Closing the Building

Due to the rapid increase of cases of Covid-19 in Illinois and the recent stay-at-home advisories from the Governor, the county, and the city of Chicago, the Eisenhower Public Library will be closing at the end of the business day, Tuesday, November 17th until further notice.

We will continue to offer Home Delivery to residents of Norridge and Harwood Heights along with Curbside Pickup for all of our patrons. Our virtual library programs and reference services will continue as well.

Because guidelines and best practices may change, please keep an eye out for updates on our website and social media channels, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Curbside Pickup & Home Delivery

Monday – Thursday: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday & Saturday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM

To request Curbside Pickup or Home Delivery, place your holds as you normally would in the library catalog or by calling 708-867-7828. You’ll receive a notification when your items are ready.

If you’d like Curbside Pickup, please come to the library and follow the posted instructions for drivers or pedestrians.

If you’d prefer Home Delivery, give us a call at 708-867-7828 and we’ll bring your materials to your Norridge or Harwood Heights address.

Materials Return

Borrowed materials can be returned via the walk-up book drops at the front of the library or via the drive-up book drops accessible from Wilson Avenue. For materials too large for the book drop, call 708-867-7828 or ring the library doorbell.

Ebooks, Audiobooks & More

Please consider taking advantage of the digital library materials including, ebooks, audiobooks, streaming movies, magazines, and more. For assistance call 708-867-2299.

Online Learning Tools

We also offer Eisenhower Library card holders access to a world of online research and learning tools. such as Ancestry Online, Morningstar Investment Research Center, Rosetta Stone, Mango Languages, and much more.

Curbside Printing, Copying & Faxing

We are happy to offer curbside print, photocopy, and fax services. When you reach the library, call 708-867-7828 and someone will come out to assist you. You may also send your files to our printers remotely or from your mobile device. Learn how.

Internet, Hotspots & Laptop Computers

For those without access to internet at home, our special library collection includes borrowable Wi-Fi hot spots. These devices can connect your laptop, smart phone, tablet, or virtually any other wi-fi enabled device to the internet anywhere.

Don’t have your own internet device? No problem. Borrow one of our laptop kits. These kits come complete with a Chromebook, wi-fi hotspot, and everything you need to get connected to the internet at home or on the go.

You may also connect to our wireless internet signal from outside the building.

We continue to offer programs and events virtually for adults, teens, and kids as Zoom video chats, webinars, and online videos. See a list of upcoming virtual events or browse our online calendar.

If you are a resident of Norridge or Harwood Heights age 13 or older, you can instantly get an online-only library card that grants access to Eisenhower’s collection of ebooks, audiobooks, and other digital materials. You’ll also be able to take advantage of our online research databases and learning resources.

To convert that online card to a full-access, physical card or to renew an expired card, call 708-867-7898 and ask for details.
