CPL Borrowing Policies

As a library which reciprocates borrowing with the Chicago Public Library, the Eisenhower Library upholds CPL’s circulation policies for Chicago Library cardholders. This year, CPL’s rules governing reciprocal borrowing are changing.

Beginning on April 25th, 2023, CPL patrons visiting Eisenhower will no longer be able to borrow console video games, canvas bags, kits, and a few other non-traditional library materials. Chicago residents will still be able to borrow books, movies and TV series on DVD and Blu-ray, audiobook CDs, music CDs, and magazines. We’ll also happily welcome Chicago patrons at our programs including lectures, classes, book clubs, movie screenings, and other events.

Any concerns about the changes to CPL’s circulation policies can be directed to the Commissioner of the Chicago Public Library at 312-747-4090.
