At-home COVID-19 tests are now available to order for free at covidtests.gov. Every household is eligible to receive four tests in the mail by simply entering your name and address. Once you receive them, you should take a test when:
- You begin having COVID-19 symptoms: fever, sore throat, runny nose, or loss of taste or smell.
- At least five days after you come into close contact with someone with COVID-19.
- When you’re going to gather with a group of people, especially those who are at risk of disease.
If you test positive you should quarantine at home, following the latest CDC guidelines. If you are currently experiencing symptoms and need a test immediately, find a local testing facility.
