The Friends of the Eisenhower Library

The Friends of the Eisenhower Library is a volunteer, nonprofit group of contributing members who are committed to enhancing the Eisenhower Public Library District and its services.

The Friends group has a long history of actively supporting the library by providing books and materials, funding programs and speakers, hosting book sales, and raising community awareness for the library and its services. Most notably, the former Friends group played a pivotal role in the passing of the referendum that paved the way for construction of the beautiful new building that currently houses the Eisenhower Public Library.

The Friends group would not be possible if not for the hard work and dedication of its members. We always look forward to seeing new faces at our meetings and events. The Friends of the Eisenhower Library meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 PM.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, meets have been held quarterly. Please email eisenhowerfol@gmail.com for upcoming meeting dates.

If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Eisenhower Library, ask at the Library Services Desk. Individual memberships cost $5.00. Family memberships cost $10.00 and include two adults and up to five children under 18 years of age. Business memberships are also available. Annual memberships expire on October 1st. Questions? Email eisenhowerfol@gmail.com or call 708-867-2293.

Please note: We do not accept donations of magazines, VHS tapes, textbooks, or encyclopedias.

All donations immediately become the property of the Eisenhower Library and may be sold in the Book Sale Room or at an annual book sale. Donations may be brought to the library during regular business hours and placed in the bin marked for book donations. Please do not bring more items than you can carry into the library at one time.

For larger donations (more than a box full), please email us at eisenhowerfol@gmail.com or call 708-867-2293 to make an appointment. We do not monitor phone and email messages on a daily basis, so it may take up to a week for a response. If you need a receipt for tax purposes, the library will provide one. We cannot, however, assign a dollar value to your donation.
