This graphic novel is an autobiographical account of the author’s journey from the Middle East to Dearborn Michigan.
Dearborn has a large Muslim population, which is why her parents decided to move there. Huda spends her weekends with other Muslims and her time at school with Americans. She has some trouble negotiating between the two cultures.
She finally decides that she must know herself before she can blend in with either or both groups. She writes this with a lot of humor as well as love for her family. She says she hopes her parents can one day understand the title of her book.
