ISLAND WITHIN A CITY BOOK COMMITTEE
Progress Report—
Director Wittmann reported that we received a few essays and that they have been saved in the google drive. Dan had an interview with a 93 year old gentleman who spoke for about 2 hours. Rich will be interviewed by Dan on Monday. Iggy’s reached out and advised that they would like to be interviewed. Bethany Baptist church reached out also and they are interested in assisting with the book. Director Wittmann advised that she would like everyone to be proactive about getting stories for the book. Julie is going to try to pin some people down after the next Chamber meeting. Trustee Ringelstein is talking to students at Ridgewood. Director Wittmann started working on chapter one, Gone but Not Forgotten.
Proposed Book Introduction—
Director Wittmann advised that they could put a “teaser” to the book in the next newsletter. She reported that she put a personal story in the newsletter about a former patron Mr. Francis. The whole committee advised that they were very happy with the introduction Director Wittmann wrote. Trustee Parent advised that if any other information presents itself that should be included in the introduction, we should revise.
Next Steps—
Director Wittmann started working on Chapter 1. She wants everyone on the committee to get out there and get stories. If they do not receive enough stories by the May 31 deadline, they may have to extend it.
Next Meeting Date—
The next meeting will be on February 16, 2023 at 6:30 P.M.
