Kids Books for Star Wars Day

Every year, May the 4th is Star Wars Day! This year, we’re suggesting you celebrate with some of the ebooks, audiobooks, videos and more digital materials available to Eisenhower Library card holders. Looks for posts here on our library blog and all over our Facebook Page and Instagram Feed all throughout the day.

This list should get our younger Star Wars fans ready use the Force like the greatest Jedi.

Are You Scared, Darth Vader? by Adam Rex

It’s midnight and the moon is full, but Darth Vader isn’t scared. OF COURSE I AM NOT SCARED. Nothing can scare Lord Vader! CORRECT. Not monsters or witches or ghosts, and especially not the dark. So what is Darth Vader scared of? Read on in Adam Rex’s hilarious and spooky Star Wars tale to find out!

Star Wars Creatures Big & Small by Calliope Glass

Read along with Star Wars! Rathtars, rancors, purrgil, and porgs, tookas, tauntauns, wampas, and gorgs. The animals of Star Wars are oh so unique-like pigs that puff up or the three-horned reek. Think you can name every creature? Come along and let this book be your teacher!

C-3PO Does NOT Like Sand! by Caitlin Kennedy

C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8 are on a special mission to the desert planet of Tatooine for the Resistance, but between befriending banthas and cheering on pod races, BB-8 and R2-D2 are having a hard time focusing. What’s a droid to do but have some fun in the sun? It’s a good thing everyone’s favorite protocol droid is on hand to keep the mission on track. But one thing is for certain, C-3PO does not like sand!

Jedi Academy, Book One by Jeffrey Brown

Roan’s one dream is to leave home and attend Pilot Academy like his older brother, father, and grandfather. But just as Roan is mysteriously denied entrance to Pilot School, he is invited to attend Jedi Academy—a school that he didn’t apply to and only recruits children when they are just a few years old. That is, until now.
