An Evening with Author Jenny Lawson

Wednesday, March 30, 2022, 7:00 PM.

Join us for an evening with award-winning humorist Jenny Lawson as she discusses her most recent bestseller, Broken (in the best possible way) and her brilliantly funny body of work. R. Eric Thomas will join her in conversation.

Jenny is an American journalist, author and blogger known for her great candor in sharing her struggle with mental illness. “The Bloggess” lives in Texas with her husband and daughter and was constantly “buying too many books” (“Not a real thing,” she insists), so she decided to skip the middleman and just started her own book store, Nowhere Bookshop in San Antonio. She has previously written Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and Furiously Happy, both of which were #1 New York Times bestsellers.

R. Eric Thomas is a national bestselling author, playwright, and screenwriter. His books include, Here for It, or How to Save Your Soul in America, which was featured as a Read with Jenna pick on NBC’s Today. Off the page, Eric is also the long-running host of The Moth StorySlams in Philadelphia, and has been heard on The Moth Radio Hour, NPR’s All Things Considered and It’s Been A Minute with Sam Sanders.

If you can’t make it on the 30th, register and you’ll receive a link to view a recording of the conversation at your leisure.

This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present, a statewide collaboration between public libraries offering high-quality events.

Borrow Jenny’s other books.
