ISLAND WITHIN A CITY BOOK COMMITTEE
Progress Report on Distributing and Advertising Essay Prompts—
Director Wittmann reported that Chris was finalizing the newsletter. Director Wittmann advised that she gave Trustee Magnelli a blurb to be posted in the Harwood Heights Newsletter and she gave Rich Massaro the blurb for the Norridge robo call. Julie will check with the schools to see what they need. They will send the appropriate prompts to the schools, the Police, and the mayors. Julie put together a timeline and distributed it to the committee. Rich advised that he put out something on Facebook and one person responded.
Island Within A City Event Timeline—
Julie discussed the electronic timeline with the committee. She explained how it works. She showed them an example of a free timeline but she advised that they might have to make a purchase to download data. She will investigate that further. Rich advised that maybe there was a way they could narrow the scope for people. Trustee Parent suggested putting something general out maybe asking people to tell us their favorite story about the community, but he is not sure how to get that out to those folks. Julie said that there is a timeline maker with a one-time software purchase and it is more visually appealing. Director Wittmann suggested that they discuss at the next meeting about getting the prompts out to the local agencies. Rich asked when they wanted the robo call to go out. Director Wittmann wanted to wait until the newsletter went out and the website is up and running. Julie will get in touch with Rich once the newsletter goes out. Trustee Ringelstein would like to review the meeting on Monday with Director Wittmann.
