Looking for a surreal way to get into the holiday spirit and support libraries?
Hulu, the streaming service, has created Stream for a Cause to support the American Library Association. Each stream of their selection of Stream for a Cause videos earns donations to ALA, up to $100,000.
The videos include deep dives into Slow TV (watch a roast in an oven, a couple sneak tweaks to the thermostat, the creation of a craft mural) and attempts at triggering Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR), a tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine – i.e. shivers of anticipation and delight.
I’ll admit that I could watch the flipping sequins Christmas-tree-to-pizza-slice transformation in The Gathering on repeat for hours.
