Seiche from the Collection Paper Lantern by Stuart Dybek

In 1954, my friend Judy’s Uncle Teddy was one of the seven fishermen swept off the breakwater at Montrose Harbor by a seiche and killed. That huge tsunami-like wave is the starting point for Stuart Dybek’s love story, Seiche. In twelve short pages the author explores the soul of longing and love and loss that will haunt you long after you have moved on to the next story in Paper Lanterns.
