CALL TO ORDER

President Braun, called the meeting to order at 7:09 P.M.

ROLL CALL

Present: Magnuson, Magnelli, Ringelstein, Ross, Krebs. Braun.
Absent: Parent.
Also Present: Wittmann, Bacarella, Committee Members Blubaugh, Stam.
Absent: Committee Members Rich Massaro, McPhillips.

RECOGNITION OF VISITORS

There were no visitors present.

There were no public comments.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

There were no minutes for approval.

ISLAND WITHIN A CITY BOOK COMMITTEE

Progress Report—
Director Wittmann reported that Trustee Braun submitted two essays. Julie reported that she interviewed a mom and daughter from the community. They discussed the Italian community within the community. Julie is still working on creating a transcript of the interview recordings. There will be a recording booth set up at the 50th Anniversary celebration. Dan is still working on interviewing people. Director Wittmann advised that we will continue to interview people. Trustee Ringelstein asked Director Wittmann if we were publishing the book tomorrow about how many pages we would have. Director Wittmann responded that we would have about fifty pages. Director Wittmann advised that we will be asking Veterans to fill out forms with their names, branch of service, experiences, a photo, etc. She would like to have a chapter on community Veterans and that should bring us up to 100 pages.

Next Steps—

Director Wittmann reported that we will keep working on gathering
stories. We are having the Veterans Day brunch and 50th anniversary celebration. She will have a draft Chapter 2 in December.

Next Meeting Date—
The Committee will meet next on December 21, 2023 at 7:00 P.M.

Trustee Ross moved, seconded by Trustee Magnuson, THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. A voice vote was taken and the motion carried. The Committee Meeting was adjourned at 7:16 P.M.
