Dalya is a shoemaker’s daughter living in Berlin in the 1930s. Dayla is also Jewish. She’s finally received permission to design her own shoes, a pair of pink heels with silken ribbons decorated with embroidered roses. She plans to wear them if she ever gets married.
But after she’s forced into a concentration camp, shoes are the furthest thing from her mind, Survival is everything. Dayla des survive, but what about her shoes?
Through a series of stories ranging across two continents and eighty years, Dayla’s shoes move from person to person, from place to place. Will they ever find their owner?
