Kevin Canty’s new book is a fictionalized account of the 1972 silver mine fire at the Sunshine Mine in Idaho. Ninety-one miners died from carbon monoxide poisoning making it the second-deadliest mining accident in U. S. history. The novel follows several characters as they try to deal with the disaster.

It is a short book not bogged down in detail but focused on the human side of the tragedy.
