
The Wrong End of the Telescope by Rabih Alameddine has won the 2022 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction.
PEN/Faulkner is a nonprofit literary organization that promotes a lifelong love of reading and a connection to writing through public events, in-school education, and public promotion of exceptional literary achievement. The PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction is one of the highest honors available to American fiction writers.
Prize judges Eugenia Kim, Rebecca Makkai, and Rion Amilcar Scott wrote of the book, “In a year of stunning and important fiction, this work stands as a particular achievement: a novel that cries out to be heard and that teaches us, both intrinsically and extrinsically, what story can do.”
