Together We Read: The Five Wounds

February 07 – 21, 2022.

At Eisenhower, we’re excited to join libraries and readers across the country for the Together We Read digital book club.

From February 7th through 21st, Norridge and Harwood Heights residents can enjoy and discuss the miraculous debut novel, The Five Wounds by Kirstin Valdez Quade, for free with no waitlists or holds. Readers with valid Eisenhower library cards can access the ebook by visiting mediaondemand.org or by downloading the Libby app.

It’s Holy Week in the small town of Las Penas, New Mexico, and thirty-three-year-old unemployed Amadeo Padilla has been given the part of Jesus in the Good Friday procession. He is preparing feverishly for this role when his fifteen-year-old daughter Angel shows up pregnant on his doorstep and disrupts his plans for personal redemption. With weeks to go until her due date, tough, ebullient Angel has fled her mother’s house, setting her life on a startling new path.

During Together We Read, The Five Wounds can be read without waitlists or holds on the Libby app on all major computers and devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets and Chromebooks. Through Libby, readers can also “send to Kindle.”

Find out more about Together We Read, download the Libby App, and join the discussion of The Five Wounds at togetherweread.com.
