We can’t take bus trips right now but, thanks to the internet, we can explore the world from the comfort of our homes. Every Wednesday, we’re presenting a series of links to cultural institutions in Chicago and beyond. Today we’ll visit The American Writers Museum.
Since 2017, the American Writers Museum, at 180 N. Michigan Avenue, has been engaging the public in celebrating American writers and exploring their influence on our history, our identity, our culture, and our daily lives.
Today, you can take a virtual video tour of the museum and learn a bit of its history; watch recordings of the Museum’s authors visit events, including Saeed Jones, author of How We Fight for Our Lives, Scott Turow, author of The Last Trial, and many more; then view virtual museum exhibits on anti-slavery activist Frederick Douglass and Immigrant and Refugee Writers Today. Don’t forget to check out the Museum’s book club and reading recommendations.
