Volunteer

Do you need to fulfill community service hours for a school project?

We are currently accepting junior high and high school aged volunteers who live in Norridge or Harwood Heights to help getting day-to-day tasks done. From cutting out construction paper shapes for Storytime crafts and dusting shelves, to sharpening pencils and more, our Departmental Volunteers make our library better in countless ways.

  • High school aged volunteers can work up to two hours per day, three days per week.
  • Junior high aged volunteers can work up to one hour per day, three days per week.

We are unable to accept volunteers for court-ordered community service.

Please call 708-867-7828 to find out how to become a Departmental Volunteer. You’ll be asked to fill out a Volunteer Inquiry Form. If you choose, you may download and print a form to fill out before coming to the Library. Julie Stam, Business and Community Liaison coordinates volunteers for the entire library.
