This summer, the Eisenhower Library plans on taking full advantage of the weather and offering you a number of outdoor programs, in addition to more virtual activities.
Films are definitely a theme! In June, July, and August, we’ll be hosting a series of drive-in movies. Bring some popcorn and join us from the comfort of your vehicle in June for the classic, Singin’ in the Rain, in July for Despicable Me, and in August for the modern crowd-pleaser, Knives Out.
We’re continuing the Hollywood theme with a new virtual Hollywood Book Club, and online programs on Hollywood stars and starlets with film historian Dr. Annette Bochenek.
For residents of Norridge and Harwood Heights, check out Hoopla and our new service, Kanopy, to download movies to watch at home or from your mobile device. You can find classics, comedies, and children’s films and shows on Hoopla, in addition to ebooks, digital audiobooks, and music. Be sure to check out Hoopla’s “Not on Netflix” category. Find award-winning documentaries, classic movies, and independent films in Kanopy.
Make sure to check out our weekly Facebook film screenings. You can watch along with other film enthusiasts on our Facebook page. We’re going to be retiring this program soon, so make sure to check it out before it goes away.
You can also still check films and tv shows out from the library collection. Stop by and browse, call us for curbside pickup, or ask for a delivery if you live in Norridge or Harwood Heights.
We hope to help you make this summer a fun one!
