As anyone who has lived in the Midwest knows, winter is a time of hibernation for residents. Nothing sounds better than cozying up with a blanket, a hot beverage, and enjoying a book or a movie, listening to a new album, or binge-watching your favorite show.
The Eisenhower Library can certainly provide you with any of those things. We have an extensive collection of the newest books, movies, CDs, and streaming options for you. Remember, we even have a fireplace in the Quiet Room where you can peruse the latest mystery before setting off for home.
We’d also like to offer an alternative to Midwest Hibernation. For the teens in our community, we are incredibly happy to debut our new state-of-the-art teen room. For those of you needing some quiet study space for homework and group projects or if you just want to avoid cabin fever, we have now doubled the number of our study rooms for your use and convenience.
We are also set to debut The Workshop, our space dedicated to creating art, crafts, and a lot of other things we haven’t even thought of yet. We are featuring programming this winter that will help introduce you to the space. We’re starting small; we have a couple of sewing machines and an embroidery machine and will be doing a few other fun crafty things. In the future, we hope to add things like a 3D printer and a laser cutter.
We know that it can be difficult to find the motivation to leave the warmth of home in the coming months. We hope you’ll throw on your warmest parka, some solid boots, and come visit us. We would love to show you all of the wonderful things we have to offer not just during winter, but all year long.
